We have experienced an increase of Covid-19 cases over the last several days. As of Tuesday, October 5, 2021, we have 8 total students and staff at home with Covid-19. The cases are concentrated in the elementary building and appear to generally be through community spread.
We ask that you continue to monitor your child for symptoms common to Covid-19. Fever seems to be the first and most reliable early indicator of Covid-19. If your child is running a temperature, please keep them at home.
Monitor for these Covid-19 symptoms:
- Fever of chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Look for emergency warning signs for Covid-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion
- Inability to wake or stay awake
- Pale gray or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone
We will also continue to check temperatures at the door in the morning. In addition, the cleaning protocols and personal hygiene will continue to be a point of emphasis. Masks are recommended at this point, but are not mandatory.
Thank you and please be well,
Dean Tickle
